CAPE CORAL, Fla. – One man’s attempt to steal plywood from a home construction site, didn’t go so well after being caught by a couple driving by.
“We know it’s a hot commodity right now plywood’s like Gold!” said Debbie Cooper.
Cooper and her husband Mike were driving down Surfside & Beach Parkway when they said they noticed a man loading this tan pickup truck with plywood from a home being built.
After confronting the man, the guy in the truck told the couple he was taking it to another job to build a pool.

Sharon Lynn Brindamour, 59, allegedly used $160,000 in charitable donations to gamble in casinos officals said.
“She went to the Hard Rock in Tampa, she went to the Hard Rock in Fort Lauderdale, she went to Harras in Biloxi, Mississippi, she spent it on her own personal car insurance,” Pinellas County Sheriff’s Corporal Travis Sibley said.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is holding a news conference Wednesday afternoon in Fort Myers.
FDLE will announce the results of Operation “Thou Shalt Not Steal” involving a theft ring charged with stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in church donations throughout the United States.
The news conference is expected to start at 2:30 p.m. at FDLE’s Regional Operations Center.

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A man stole someone’s credit card and spent over $1,400 at a local gas station and Walmart on Wednesday.
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said they are looking for the man involved in the credit card fraud and grant theft case.
The suspect stole the victim’s credit card at an Olive Garden in Cape Coral. Crime Stoppers said fraudulent transactions were made at RaceTrac in North Fort Myers and the Walmart on Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres.
In total, the suspect used $1,400 on the victim’s credit card, according to local investigators.

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – Fourteen large lizards were stolen from a Punta Gorda reptile facility on Monday night, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The lizards, called tegus, were stolen between 11:15 p.m. – 11:35 p.m. and are worth around $35,000 combined, said Jesse Hardin, the owner of Jesse’s Jungle.
