Red Cross responded to help 5 people affected by Cape Coral fire
CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A fire erupted in an apartment on Hancock Creek Boulevard in The Crossing in Cape Coral early Thursday morning, officials said.
Five people were displaced by the fire, a spokesperson for the American Red Cross said. Local volunteers from the Disaster Action Team helped the two adults and three children coordinate a place to stay and other emergency aid.
The Red Cross also provided emergency financial assistance as well as health and mental health services.
Ten fire and rescue units responded to the fire. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
