FORT MYERS, Lee County – Fort Myers police responded to a shooting near a home on the corner of Fountain and C Streets. FMPD said they’re responding to gunfire in the area. They said no one was injured, and no homes were hit. At least 10 shell casings can be seen on the ground. Several people were in the area at the time, and FMPD is asking anyone with information to come forward. The scene of the investigation has since cleared. FORT MYERS, Fla.– Fort Myers Police Officers responded to a shooting at 2475 Central Avenue on June 1st. Police found a locked blue Ford SUV with a man shot inside, when they arrived. Officials broke the drivers side window to open the door and found Montrell Amari O’Neal inside. He had a large gunshot wound on his forehead, according to police. LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – Investigators are searching for a suspect involved a burglary at a Lehigh Acres Popeyes. Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said the burglary happened early Monday morning at the Popeyes located at 2710 Lee Boulevard. The suspect used a large pair of channel locks to remove the lock from the front door. Crime Stoppers confirmed the suspect spent time hiding in shrubbery outside the business before going inside. COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A driver was seriously injured after a dump truck hauling gravel flipped on SR 82 in Collier County Thursday morning. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed SR 82 is closed in both directions near Gator Slough Road due to the rollover crash. Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and said troopers believe the dump truck was the one vehicle involved. Firefighters find sinking boat near Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Firefighters rescued a person from sinking boat back to land in Fort Myers early Thursday morning. The Fort Myers Fire Department said its crews responded around 12:47 a.m. to a watercraft distress. It was reported that the boat lost power and was taking on water near I-75 and SR 31. The boater was found and no injuries were reported, according to fire crews. The boat was without plugs and FMFD helped tow it to downtown at the Yacht Basin.
