LABELLE, Fla. – Animal Control in LaBelle is reducing their services until next week and said residents should not bring animals their way.
The facility located off of Rodeo Drive in LaBelle. City officials said they’re restricting services due to shortages on staff.
Shelter operators said one employee recently underwent back surgery while the other is on vacation. They’re also asking residents not to trap their own animals.
They hope to be fully operational June 9.

LABELLE, Fla. – The City of LaBelle has issued a boil water notice, officials said.
The notice is necessary due to an electrical service issue. It is expected to be in effect until Wednesday at noon when a Bacteriological Survey shows the water is safe to drink or a different notice is issued regarding the boil water action, according to the city.
All City of LaBelle water users are advised to bring drinking water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to consumption, officials said.

LABELLE, Fla. – The plane involved in a deadly crash in LaBelle was flying low near homes before the crash, new video shows.
Michael Stockton, the pilot in the plane, was killed in the crash on May 6. The pilot-rated passenger was seriously injured after the crash that happened right next to a church.

LABELLE, Fla. – LaBelle City Hall closed Thursday after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.
City Hall closed out of an abundance of caution at around 12 p.m., LaBelle’s City FInance Director Ron Zimmerly confirmed.
The city said they will open back up on Monday, May 24.
Zimmerly said all preventative measures continue to be in effect.
