FORT MYERS, Fla. — Toxic algae is still spreading throughout Southwest Florida waterways and it could put a damper on your health. The Department of Health has issued a health alert that includes the Davis Boat Ramp. Although the water is mostly clear, people still need to be wary of potential health risks. COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Green gunk has been gathering in canals around Southwest Florida recently, and it’s starting to become a health issue. So far, blue-green algae blooms have been spotted in Labelle, Alva and Fort Myers. Conditions at the Davis Boat Ramp are not getting better.
