LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Food pantries are in need of donations as summer rolls around.
A lot of kids who rely on free lunches during the school year will now be at home, sometimes unsure when their next meal will be.
To help alleviate hunger in the community, the Iona-McGregor Fire District has teamed up with the Gladiolus Food Pantry to help reel in food donations.
The food drive has been dubbed ‘Operation Food For Summer.’ The food pantry needs canned food items like soup, pasta, baby food and cereals.
