SARASOTA, Fla. — Temperatures in Florida are rising fast, so leaving pets in cars can turn deadly quickly.
Earlier this week, officers with the Sarasota Police Department responded to University Parkway to help rescue a dog that was left in a hot car.
The temperature inside the car was 115 degrees Fahrenheit, according to officials with the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services.
