SAN JOSE, Calif. / CNN — Police in San Jose, California, responded to a shooting near a Valley Transportation Authority light rail maintenance yard on Wednesday morning, officials said.
VTA spokesperson Brandi Childress said there were “reports of an active shooter” at the site and said employees had been evacuated. There were multiple casualties, she said in an email.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said said that the shooter is “down,” in a short Tweet.
San Jose Police said the scene is still active and asked people to stay out of the area.

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Cape Coral police are searching for a man who used someone’s bank information to steal $700.
The Cape Coral Police Department said the suspect used compromised bank information to steal from a victim using an ATM at Wells Fargo, 1608 Cape Coral Parkway West. The incident happened on March 19.
Now, CCPD is trying to identify the suspect.

LEE COUNTY, Fla – A Fort Myers man is accused of using a phone to spy on his neighbor as she showered with her young daughter.
The woman spotted a red phone propped up in her master shower window in their home off McGregor Boulevard, according to deputies.
She screamed for her husband, who ran out of the house looking for the suspect, with the help of other neighbors.
Lee County deputies arrived and found footprints leading from near the bathroom window. A short time later, they found Anthony Cardinale.

FORT MYERS, Fla.– The Fort Myers Police Department is searching for a man who shot at a car near the intersection of Cranford Avenue and Lime Street on Tuesday afternoon.
The man shot at the car then took off running, police said.
Neighbors said they heard five or six shots.
At this time, no shooting victim has been found.
Police have set up a large perimeter to search for the shooter.

IMMOKALEE, Fla. – Investigators are asking for information on an unsolved Collier County murder from nearly 18 years ago.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, the body of Catalina Lechuga was found near Rose Avenue and East Delaware Avenue in Immokalee in 2003.
A deputy with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office discovered the 39-year-old’s body in a wooded-area after they were flagged down by someone who found the body, officials said.
Investigators said Lechuga had died from multiple stab wounds.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A Lehigh Acres man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday for possessing child sex abuse images and videos, according to the Department of Justice.
Steven Thomas Baryla, 39, accessed the material on the internet and social media, the DOJ reported. Homeland Security Investigations conducted a search warrant of his home on June 20, 2019 and found more than 106 images and 10 videos.
Baryla’s search history included questions like “best state for sex offenders to live 2017” and “registered sex offender name change,” according to the DOJ.

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. [AP] – A man yelled antisemitic slurs at a rabbi and dumped a bag of feces in front of a South Florida synagogue, authorities said.
Cellphone video showed an unidentified man on an electric bicycle ranting outside the building on Friday.
A short while later, he returned with a bag or pillowcase full of human feces, said Hallandale Beach Police Capt. RaShana Dabney-Donovan.
