CLEARWATER, Fla. [WFLA] – The GFWC Woman’s Club of Clearwater treasurer is accused of stealing thousands of dollars over a period of two years, according to investigators.
Sharon Lynn Brindamour, 59, allegedly used $160,000 in charitable donations to gamble in casinos officals said.
“She went to the Hard Rock in Tampa, she went to the Hard Rock in Fort Lauderdale, she went to Harras in Biloxi, Mississippi, she spent it on her own personal car insurance,” Pinellas County Sheriff’s Corporal Travis Sibley said.

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Police are investigating a robbery on Veronica S Shoemaker Boulevard in Fort Myers, officials said.
Officers with the Fort Myers Police Department were dispatched to the scene near 1512 Veronica S Shoemaker Blvd and are investigating, according to a spokesperson with FMPD.
The robbery victim was riding their bike into the Brookhill Subdivision when he was robbed by multiple people, police said. The victim is cooperating with officers.
The victim suffered some injuries in the robbery, so they were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — At least one person was injured in a crash on Interstate 75 in Collier County on Thursday night, officials said.
Deputies with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and rescue crews with the Greater Naples Fire Rescue responded to the crash near mile marker 107 on southbound I-75 just after 11 p.m.
The driver ran from the crash scene and was later found at a Chase Bank in the Crossroads Market Plaza not too far from the crash. He was taken into custody.
A second person involved in the crash was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – Collier County deputies are responding to a shooting at a mobile home park on Dewey Court and San Marco Boulevard in Naples.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they got a call around 10 p.m. for shots fire at Southwinds Mobile Home Park.
No one was injured in the shooting, but deputies are still in the area investigating.
CCSO said a helicopter that was already up from the brush fire in Golden Gate Estates swung over to help with the investigation.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Police are searching for a man who they described as having a “unique walk.”
The suspect can be seen on surveillance video on May 21 taking long, flailing strides after allegedly stealing from the Auto Repair Shop at 2445 Concorde Drive in Fort Myers.
The man was with another man when he stole a Kobalt toolbox around 4:36 a.m., though the footage does not show the second suspect, according to the Fort Myers Police Department [FMPD].

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. [WFLA] – A swastika and an antisemitic message were found painted on the side of the Florida Holocaust Museum, detectives said.
St. Petersburg police, who are investigating the incident as a hate crime, said someone spray painted a swastika in black along with the message, “Jews are guilty.”
Officers say they spotted the graffiti along the 1st Avenue South side of the museum around 4 a.m. while patrolling the area, WFLA reported.
City sanitation workers were called soon after police made the discovery to paint over the graffiti, officials said.

FORT MYERS, Fla. — A 36-year-old Fort Myers man who was planning on selling more than 500 grams of cocaine was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison, officials said.
Edgar Vazquez was driving on Colonial Boulevard in September 2018 when he was pulled over by a deputy with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for a traffic violation, according to a release from the Florida Department of Justice.

OKEECHOBEE, Fla. [WPTV] – An Okeechobee woman said she found out her now-missing husband was already married before they said ‘I do.’
“I just want it to be over,” Audra Clemons recently told WPTV.
Clemons said the courts won’t annul her marriage to Carlos Alberto Abreu Mendez. She married Mendez in 2015.
“He fooled me,” Clemons said. “He completed fooled me. He fooled my parents.”

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Authorities are searching for a man who stole thousands worth of electronics from the same Fort Myers Target store at least two times in May.
The man pictured stole electronics from the Target at Gulf Coast Town Center on May 15 and again on May 24, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.
On May 15 the suspect made off with $1,157 worth of electronics while sporting a blue polo.
Just nine days later the man stole around $1,558 in electronics from the same store, but this time in a bright orange t-shirt.
