FORT MYERS, Fla.– Prosecutors have responded Mark Sievers’ request for an appeal in his murder conviction.
He filed an appeal with the Florida supreme court back in February.
Sievers representation made several claims against evidence and testimony that they said impacted the case.
Prosecutors responded, requesting that the court uphold Sievers’ conviction.
Sievers was found guilty after his wife, Dr. Theresa Sievers, was found bludgeoned to death with a hammer in the families kitchen.

The Stratton’s were walking out of Walmart when they found out that their vehicle was gone.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A Miami man was found guilty of vehicular homicide on Thursday, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
On June 27, 2018, 33-year-old Yosbel Regalado Fernandez ran a red light and slammed into another car. The light had already been red for seven seconds when Fernandez drove a tractor-trailer through the US-41 intersection, officials said.
The 60-year-old North Fort Myers woman driving the other car was killed in the crash, officials said.
The jury deliberated for approximately two hours following a three-day trial in Fort Myers.

Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office deputies are trying to identify the skateboarder.
The person appears to be a white man with a large tattoo across his upper back and another tattoo on his upper chest.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – At least 20 auto dealerships and repair shops have been targeted in the West District of the City of Fort Myers between May 1 and June 1, according to police.
Several businesses along Fowler Street and Cleveland Avenue have reported stolen cars and burglaries, like RNS Automotive, which was hit on May 21. NBC2 previously covered the crime, in which the Fort Myers Police Department released to surveillance video of a suspect with a “unique walk.”

CLEWISTON, Fla.– A good Samaritan makes a disturbing discovery in Clewiston after finding five dogs abandoned near a canal on Wednesday morning.
Jamie Wright and Amanda Nelson, who work for the Clewiston Animal Control, said they rushed to Evergreen and Art Lawrence roads in a rural part of Clewiston searching for the puppies.
“They dumped a bag of puppy chow and that was it. It was on the edge of a canal bank by some cane fields,” said Wright.
