RIVERVIEW, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of two men they said appears to be a murder-suicide from Monday morning. Deputies responded to an apartment on Cypressdale Drive in Riverview around 7:30 a.m. after a caller told authorities his friend had FaceTimed him saying he killed his ‘partner,’ according to HCSO. Dognapper walks out of Fort Myers pet store with puppy hidden under his shirt

FORT MYERS, Fla.–Fort Myers police are searching for a man who stole a 9-week-old Shih Tzu. According to officials, the man walked into the Cleveland Avenue Pet Kingdom on Saturday evening. He then stuffed the puppy under his shirt and walked back out of the store. Police describe the dognapper as white with tattoos on his arms and a large build. He was last seen in a blue Florida Gator’s hat and a green shirt. He could be driving a white sedan with a paper tag, according to authorities. Punta Gorda walking bridge destroyed by suspected drunk driver

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – A mangled mess of metal is all that’s left of a walking bridge after a hit-and-run crash in Punta Gorda. Punta Gorda police report the walking bridge at the end of West Retta Esplanade was struck by a suspected drunk driver. The location is between Gilchrist Park and Fisherman’s Village. Barricades currently block pedestrians and cyclists from venturing on the path. FORT MYERS, Fla. — Scammers are using a new United States Federal Program as a chance to steal personal information from grieving family members, a scam alert from the Better Business Bureau warns. People have reported getting a call, email, or text message from someone claiming to be from the Federal Emergency Management Agency or another government agency. Passenger tries to breach cockpit on Delta flight

A passenger attempted to breach the cockpit of a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to Nashville on Friday, forcing the plane to make an emergency stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico, according to officials.
