Lightning 2-0 in series against Carolina after Tuesday night win

RALEIGH, N.C. / NHL — Although only putting 15 shots on goal all night, the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. After a scoreless first 20 minutes, Alex Killorn secured Tampa’s lead with a shot 7 minutes into the second period. He moved around the defensive zone and threw a shot toward Alex Nedeljkovic with Anthony Cirelli setting a screen. Lightning to face Carolina in second round of Stanley Cup Playoffs

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Tampa Bay Lightning will take on the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round of the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Carolina advanced out of the first round when they eliminated Nashville 4-3 on Thursday in overtime Game 6. The Bolts slid into the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the eighth time after besting the Florida Panthers in a 4-0 shutout win on home ice.
