LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A car burst into flames at a Lehigh Acres gas station on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The driver noticed the engine was smoking while they were pumping gas at the 7-Eleven on Joel Boulevard and Alexander Graham Bell Boulevard, according to Lehigh Acre and Rescue.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – A fire ripped through an SUV at a Fort Myers gas station Sunday afternoon.
Fire crews responded to the blaze just after 1 p.m. at the RaceTrac gas station at 5150 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the Fort Myers Police Department.
The SUV was engulfed in flames when crews arrived but was away from gas pumps and not threatening any buildings, officials said.
Investigators did not say how the fire sparked.
The flames were quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – Charlotte County firefighters battled a car fire on Highway 31 five miles south of Bermont Road Thursday morning.
Highway 31 was closed for over an hour while crews worked to put out the fire and clean up, according to Charlotte County Fire and EMS.

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.– North Collier crews responded to a car fire on Friday afternoon.
Around 5:30 pm, crews arrived to a car fire at the LaPlaya Beach Club on Gulfshore Drive. Staff at the resort tried to put the fire out themselves by using two fire extinguishers.
According to officials, the flames were put out quickly once fire crews arrived.
In a Facebook post, North Collier fire praised the quick reaction of staff as the fire could have spread to be much larger had they not contained the blaze with extinguishers.

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A driver’s car containing several full gas cans inside was destroyed after it caught fire on Wednesday in Citrus County.
Citrus County Fire Rescue received the call about the car fire at 10:52 a.m. in Homosassa.
The driver of the 2004 Hummer H2 had just filled up four, five-gallon containers of gas at the gas station and placed them in the back of the car before it burst into flames.
Fire crews said there was one injury but the person refused to be taken to the hospital against medical advice.
