Swatting call leads to deputies swarming North Naples home

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A Swatting call led to a large response by first responders at a North Naples home on Saturday.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident at the home on Autumn Haze Drive was related to a swatting call.

Numerous deputies swarmed the home along with fire and EMS crews. Witnesses said first responders were originally told there was an active shooter situation at the house.

Collier County deputies have not confirmed what the call was originally for.

Governor DeSantis just signed a bill into law, making Swatting calls a felony in Florida. Swatters would face five to 15 years in prison, depending on the cost incurred by law enforcement and whether the incident resulted in bodily harm or death.
