State troopers stepping up DUI enforcement for Memorial Day weekend
FORT MYERS, Fla. — Drinking and driving is never a good idea, it puts everyone on the road in danger.
To ensure everyone’s safety, troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol will be ramping up DUI enforcement in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties this Memorial Day weekend.
The enforcement detail, dubbed DUI Wolfpack, begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday and runs until 4 a.m. on Sunday. You might notice an increased law enforcement presence on major state and county roads during this time.
Florida law considers a motorist with .08 or higher Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) to be impaired. Drivers under the age of 21 with a BAC of .02 or higher are also breaking the law.
If you need to report a dangerous driver, dial *FHP (*347) to contact the Florida Highway Patrol.
