Man cited for careless driving after dump truck flips on I-75 in Fort Myers
LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A crash involving a dump truck left traffic delayed for hours on I-75 in Fort Myers on Wednesday.
Florida Highway Patrol said the 54-year-old driver has minor injuries after the crash and was cited for careless driving.
The dump truck, which was fully loaded with gravel, was going north in the outside lane of I-75 north near Colonial Boulevard, according to troopers. The front right tired of the dump truck went onto the east shoulder.
The driver overcorrected left and flipped, causing the load of gravel to spill across the northbound lanes. FHP said the dump truck was entangled in the median cable barrier of I-75 after the crash.
