Investigation unfolding at North Fort Myers duplex

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office surrounded a North Fort Myers home with crime scene tape on Wednesday.

The investigation is happening on Crescent Lake Drive right off North Tamiami Trail. NBC2 crews first saw deputies arrive at the scene around midnight.

Deputies are using scanners to search the area. They have been investigating in the neighborhood for hours.

NBC2 is working to confirm whether the investigation has anything to do with a missing woman who was last seen on Crescent Lake Drive yesterday.

Friends and family of Desiree Ann Thomas said they last heard from her around 12:30 on Tuesday afternoon. She is 5’5″ with brown hair and blue eyes. Thomas weighs about 130 pounds and was last seen wearing dark blue or purple scrubs.
