Health Matters: Do You Have MyChart?
From scheduling your medical visit to prescription refills, even direct messaging with your health care provider—the MyChart app makes it easy to manage your health. “It just gives you more access to your health care. It’s your data. It’s the medical side of you and why wouldn’t you want to know that?” said Dr. Morris Gieselman, medical director of informatics with Lee Health.
MyChart is a one-stop shop for all of your medical information—listing your medications, allergies, and doctor’s notes from previous medical visits. “It’s great for the patients because you’ll have your notes from the provider will show up there as a new enhancement that we put in, and your labs and results will show up immediately,” he said. Accessible by phone, tablet, or computer, the MyChart app also allows patients to check in to their medical appoint with e-check in and check the wait times at convenient care through the on my way icon. “The app lets you know that you’re due for something. You’re due for a screening exam, you’re due for a colonoscopy, you’re due for a mammogram. It will let you know and then gives you a spot to schedule that appointment,” Dr. Gieselman. After the appointment, patients can get their test results and even pay their bills through the My Chart app. Giving you full access to your medical care.
