Forecast: Winds calming down, but temperatures climbing
We won’t have many changes in our weather, unfortunately. The only thing you will notice is that our winds are calming down.
Sunday came with calmer winds, and today’s will only get up to 15 miles per hour sustained. Even a 15 mph breeze can fuel a brush fire, but they should not get out of control as easily as the winds calm down.
While the lighter winds will also allow our seabreeze to develop this afternoon, that seabreeze will unfortunately not bring us any rain, as dry air remains in control of our weather.
Dry air cools down and warms up quickly, so we are very comfortable this morning, back into the middle 60s, but we’re going to be toasty this afternoon with highs in the low 90s.
Expect high temperatures in the middle 90s with no rain for much of this week. Finally, by the end of the week, high pressure slides to our west, opening up the door for tropical moisture to push in.
While it won’t immediately turn on the faucet for rainy season, it will bring in enough moisture for scattered showers Saturday, and a few thunderstorms for the remainder of Memorial Day Weekend.
We are all in desperate need of rain, so count on NBC2 to keep you updated!
