Charlotte County shelter in need of fosters for kittens
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – The Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County said boxes of kittens are being dropped off at their doors daily.
The shelter said it’s in need of more fosters for the kittens.
Sometimes the kittens are just a few weeks old, and they’ll die without their mother unless they have someone like a foster to bottle feed them.
“We’ve had like up to 168 kittens in foster this season,” Diana Mitchell said. “It’s been extremely busy this season, and I know all the shelters are in the same boat right now.”
The bottle babies need someone who will dedicate the time to feed them every four hours. The shelter provides everything you’d need as a foster.
“It doesn’t cost anything to foster these guys,” Mitchell said. “We provide everything for you. We provide all the supplies, we take care of the medical costs, it just takes people with time who are willing to spend the time.”
You can volunteer to take care of these babies by filling out an application.
