
Cape Coral Police Department give trust fund donation to local causes
CAPE CORAL, Fla.– The Cape Coral Police Department their Law Enforcement Trust Funds to two causes on Thursday.
The Law Enforcement Trust Fund donation is mandated in the state of Florida. The money must be given to organizations that support drug treatment, drug abuse education, drug prevention, crime prevention, safe neighborhood, or school resource officer program or programs.
Cape Coral PD donated to the Lee County Homeless Coalition and ARCHway Institute for Mental Health and Addictive Disorders.

The Lee County Homeless Coalition helps to promote awareness and provide support around homelessness. According to a statement from Cape Coral PD, they plan to use the money donated to support awareness specifically surrounding those who struggle with substance abuse.

ARCHway Institute for Mental Health and Addictive Disorders helps those who want to start recovery but do not have the funds to enroll in a program.
